Welcome

The Clun Valley Challenge Walk is organized by St. George's Primary School PTA (registered charity) and started in 2003. This year's walk will take place on Saturday 17th May.

During the past 6 years it has grown (with the help of Stuart Lamb, organizer of the Across Wales Walk and the Long Distance Walkers Association) into a great Challenge event raising thousands of pounds for our local children.

The Route

25 or 16 miles of spectacular South Shropshire countryside with approximately 3,250' of ascent, the route consists of tracks, bridleways, footpaths and a minimal amount of quiet road walking or running.

Starting and finishing at Clun Memorial Hall (GR: 302811) in the heart of the Clun Valley. Three manned checkpoints (long route) with refreshments in addition to self clip passage controls.

Grid reference route details for use with O.S. Explorer Maps 201 and 216 will be issued on receipt of entry.

A light meal is available at the finish (We are affectionately known as the 'Gourmet Walk' due to the kind donations of parents).
