Welcome

The Clun Valley Challenge Walk is organised by St. George's Primary School PTA (registered charity) and was first started in 2003. The next walk will take place on Saturday 15th May 2010.

During the past 7 years it has grown, with the help of Stuart Lamb, organizer of the Across Wales Walk and the Long Distance Walkers Association, into a great Challenge event raising thousands of pounds for our local children.

The Route

26 or 16 miles of spectacular South Shropshire countryside with approximately 4,300 feet of ascent, the route consists of tracks, bridleways, footpaths and a minimal amount of quiet road walking or running.

Starting and finishing at Clun Memorial Hall (GR: 302811) in the heart of the Clun Valley. Four manned checkpoints (long route) with refreshments in addition to self clip passage controls.

Grid reference route details will be issued on receipt of entry.  These are designed to be used with O.S. Explorer Maps 201 and 216.  If you do not have a map you can buy one here.

A light meal is available at the finish (We are affectionately known as the 'Gourmet Walk' due to the kind donations of parents).
